The Orsolani Winery was established in the late 1800’s, when Giovanni and Domenica Orsolani left their new home in the United States to return to Italy. They opened their own inn, named Aurora’s, and while his wife supervised the kitchen, Giovanni worked the land in order to produce the wine needed for the inn. The wine became so popular that the Orsolanis expanded the cellar and the future generations of the family dedicated themselves entirely to wine production. Orsolani Carema La Tabbie is created from Nebbiolo grapes grown on the tabbie (terraces) built into the mountains of Carema. After fermentation, it ages in oak casks for at least 3 years and then is further refined in the bottle for one year before it is sold. The result is a soft, elegant red with concentrated notes of cherry, raspberry and rose petals, accented by a light spiciness on the long, balanced finish.
