Trattoria Vecchia Roma is considered a landmark in the heart of Rome. This restaurant fills up quickly with many locals as well as tourists, so reservations are recommended. It serves “real Italian food” and is a great place to being a family with children. The menu offers a large section plus there are many “house specials” of the day. The central hall of Rosti is the real workshop of cooking! People eating in the dining room will be in the company of chefs at work in the kitchen. The room to the left is characterized by long tables and more of a family atmosphere. Of course you could eat in the garden! The scent of preparations follow you where ever you decide to eat.
A small place, with a very friendly and happy staff eager to please. Two brothers, Enrique and Danieli, run the front of the house and are fun and attentive; and their Mother, the chef, has true talent. They serve amazing, homemade pasta dishes that make you want to take small bites, and eat slowly since the food is so amazing and you don’t want it to end!
Walking into Imago, the Hassler Roma’s 6th floor panoramic restaurant, one is over taken by the view which projects the impact of a beautiful painting. Soft music, elegant marble floors with an antique-wooden inlay, dimmed lights reflecting off the mirrored-tables create a romatic mood as well as the sense of being in another time and space. The view is complemented by texture, aroma and taste of Chef Francesco Apredas’ creative Italian cuisine.
This restaurant is located in the Trastevere section, and off the main road, but worth the effort to find this gem. The atmosphere was incredible, the wait staff very attentive and the food was delicious. The Roman sampler box is a great way to taste tiny bites of local specialities. You can have your last drink next to the fireplace in comfortable sofas facing a great collection of Hollywood celebrities that have visited.
This is a very chic, upscale restaurant. It is located a top a hotel with an open air view of the city, with large retractable awnings in case it is too hot. . Downstairs they have a piano bar, a great place to go if you wandering around in the evening. Great food and the staff was warm and friends This restaurant also offers gluten free items.
If you are looking for a nice place that feels like Rome and attracts lots of locals, this is a good choice. Modern presentation of great food, excellent ambience and good service. Try the “poor man’s fish” tasting menu, you will be delighted in sampling dishes you normally would have never ordered.
Everything from the bread to the dessert was perfect. The staff was attentive and provided recommentations plus excellent service. Extremely fresh fish and lovely ambiance and the quality of the food was superior. Reservations should be made a day in advance.
