Taralucci e Vino has many personalities. For breakfast, you can get a great cappuccino and cornetto. For lunch, the panini are excellent (prosciutto and parmesan, grilled zucchini and mozzarella are my favorites). The pasta is good too — buckwheat pappardelle with broccoli rabe, and ravioli in butter and sage. Really, all the food is good, served in a casual atmosphere. At night, the lights darken and it turns more into a restaurant, but with the communal table, it remains casual. The espresso has been top notch for NY.

The espresso has been top notch for NY, though on a recent visit I learned that barrista, Cristiano from Abruzzi, had departed. He took his espresso seriously. Also visit the Taralucci outpost at Alessi on Green St, or on 1st Ave.
