Strawberries; fragoline di bosco, tiny wild strawberries. Both are served with sugar and lemon juice or with CREMA GELATO, or, much more rarely with balsamic vinegar.
Sour cherry, usually steeped in alcohol or syrup, used mostly in desserts.
Raspberry, preferred fresh as a dessert (as gelato or sorbetto), but sometimes marinated in sugar syrup.
Apricot, not widely cultivated in Italy.
