Just asking… Which NYC Italian chef recently threw a brick? I don’t mean to say that she told a bad joke. I mean to say that her lasagna ai carciofi was dense and dry like a brick. The Romans could have used it to build aqueducts. Still, we hear that… it flies out the door for $27 per serving. (Yes, for pasta.) Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
I won’t name names. Everyone is entitled to throw the occasional brick. I didn’t complain. I didn’t call Page Six. I ate it. I took note. And then I went home and made a better lasagna. My total cost $20 (for 6 servings).
Only in New York kids. And then only in my kitchen (and now in yours).
